Building Black Futures through Tech and Innovation

We can’t talk about Black History without talking about Black Futures and where we’re going. We value the work of Black innovators using technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity to solve problems and build power in their communities. 

Bay Area-based organizations like the Hidden Genius Project, /dev /color, and Black Girls CODE are demonstrating the impact of expanding access to technology training, mentorship, and opportunities, especially for Black youth and young adults. 

• The Hidden Genius Project has trained over 11,000 Black male youth in coding, entrepreneurship, and leadership across the Bay Area, with participants going on to launch apps, start businesses, and pursue tech careers that were previously inaccessible. 

• Black Girls Code has supported thousands of Black girls trained in web design, robotics, mobile app development, game design. 

• /dev /color is a career accelerator for Black software engineers, technologists, and executives making global impact on access in the sector.

Black futures are being built right now by tech innovators who are solving problems in real time. When investment meets intention, people can transform the world around them, creating solutions for the challenges their communities face.
