July is National Black Family Month! National Black Family Month emphasizes the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and celebrate the strength, heritage, and unity of Black families.
BFN supports Black people and excellence in philanthropy. We provide the space, strategy, and alignment necessary to strengthen Black communities and Black-led organizations. This month, BFN is mapping documented regional strategies that support Black family systems, enabling grantmakers to connect their current portfolios with frameworks needed to recognize, align, and expand their impact on generational stability, wellness, and wealth.
This data visualization highlights that several BFN member organizations are actively and intentionally investing in Black families across various grantmaking areas. We are mapping these investments to make space to coordinate capital, especially in critical geographic and grantmaking areas that remain underfunded. We invite you to look closely at this information, let us know how your work aligns with what local foundations are doing, and expand or begin investing alongside your fellow grantmakers.
How are you supporting Black families in your grantmaking? How can you deepen your impact?
