OAKLAND, CA – September 26, 2025 – The Black Funders Network of the Bay Area (BFN) will host its 5th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Kissel Hotel in Uptown Oakland. This event is a testament to our collective journey, honoring our history and inspiring our future. As the preeminent space in the Bay Area for Black philanthropic professionals, BFN has spent the last five years creating a community where members can connect, grow, and align their efforts to best support Black communities and organizations. This evening will serve as a moment to reflect on the network's achievements and lay the groundwork for its ambitious goals in future giving practices. The celebration will highlight the collective impact of BFN members and their contributions to the Greater Bay Area.The program will feature keynote speakers, opportunities for networking, and a special awards ceremony recognizing individuals and organizations that embody BFN's core values. The network extends its gratitude to all who participated by nominating someone for an award, sharing event information, sponsoring the event, and registering to attend. The award nomination application is now closed, and the Nomination Committee is currently reviewing the list of qualified candidates.

Highlight the strength of BFN members and their pivotal contributions to philanthropy and the Greater Bay Area communities
Recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who are shaping a legacy of giving in the Bay Area and beyond, as BFN presents the Legacy, Innovation, Sustainer, Emerging Leader, and Ally Awards. These awards honor those embodying BFN's values of Connection to Community, Courage, Human Dignity, Learning, Love of Black People, Safety & Inclusion, and Thinking Big
Lay the groundwork for the next five years of impactful BFN leadership work
BFN invites community members, philanthropic leaders, and all those interested in supporting Black-led initiatives to join the celebration. The event will showcase how Black funders are reshaping power dynamics in philanthropy, promoting community-centered giving and strengthening community-owned wealth.Sponsorships are still available for organizations and individuals looking to align with BFN's mission and amplify their commitment to equity and community empowerment.
